NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
To provide a comprehensive and confidential secretarial and administrative service to a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential. The medical secretary is required to exercise her own initiative, to plan and prioritise work as appropriate. The post holder will work with minimum supervision and initiative to make delegated decisions.
- Audio and copy typing of court reports, medical and general correspondence
- Managing outlook diary
- Minute taking on and off site, facilitating meetings
- Telephone switchboard
- Adhere to NHS Policies
- Provide cross cover for colleagues at various sites
- Communication with external agencies, staff, and patient relatives
- HNC/SVQIII in Secretarial Studies or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 – 3 years experience as a medical secretary is desirable
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Application
- Advanced Keyboard skills
- Medical Terminology
