Practice Development Midwife – Band 7 – full time (or part time hours job share considered), 18 months – secondment or fixed term contract
Retention support midwife – practice development team – Band 6 – 0.5 WTE, 18 months, secondment or fixed term contract
If you wish to apply for this as a secondment please speak to your current line manager in the first instance.

We are expanding our fabulous GGC Practice development team!
You would be joining our two band 7 practice development midwives to support the team in developing their important work.
As the 3rd band 7 practice development midwife in the team, you would take the lead in one of the main maternity units in Glasgow – ensuring that midwives and other members of the maternity team have access to positive continuing professional development and multi-disciplinary training opportunities. This role also has a cross GGC function, developing the work of the PD team in creating imaginative learning opportunities for staff to embed learning from complaints, women’s feedback, clinical risk incidents and serious adverse event reviews, as well as supporting practice development resulting from projects and QI work.
We are looking for positive, enthusiastic midwives to join the practice development team. If you would like to have an informal chat about either of the roles please contact Claire Rowan or Lisa Milner-Smith on Claire.rowan@ggc.scot.nhs.uk or lisa.milner-smith@ggc.scot.nhs.uk
Here is what to do next:
- Check that you have the essential and desirable criteria to apply for the role
- Have a conversation with your line manager about your intention to apply, as you will need their support to be released for an 18 month secondment
