Ward 7 forms an integral role in the management of patients with Acute Surgical Conditions as part of the Acute Surgical Receiving Unit. This post provides an excellent opportunity for an individual to enhance their surgical skills at a senior level and offers a variety of development and educational prospects in a well supported environment.

Ward 7 is an acute admissions ward with 24 beds and a triage unit.  We work closely with GP’s and the Emergency Department, we also take direct admissions with various surgical conditions.    We care for patients with a background of General Surgery, Vascular and Urology as well as Specialist Services – Plastics, Neurology, Burns, Ophthalmology and ENT.

You will have to have extensive post registration experience in a relevant acute adult surgical area, with proven skills in leading and managing teams to develop staff to deliver safe, effective person centred care. 

You should demonstrate an ability to provide a high standard of nursing care and proven ability to manage change through effective leadership. Applicants should be proactive, motivated and would enjoy working in a challenging environment. This role is pivotal in raising clinical standards of care for patients and managing local and national agendas.

A developmental opportunity with coaching and clinical supervision to help achieve the necessary leadership/managerial competencies can be considered for the appropriate registrant

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register
