This is a brand new exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) to work within the CAMHS Midlothian and East Lothian teams. The successful candidates will have the opportunity not only to build on their existing transferable skills, but to develop the new skills required when working with children, young people and their families and carers within a specialist mental health service. Training and supervision will be provided to enable successful applicants to develop their skills in this specialist area.
The posts are located within the Tier 3 CAMHS Outpatient Teams who deliver a service to children and young people (up to 18th birthday). There are 5 outpatient teams in City of Edinburgh, North and South, Mid Lothian, East Lothian and West Lothian.
The post holders will work within a multi disciplinary team. They will deliver a range of individual and group interventions using mental health assessment and treatment skills under the supervision of the senior nurse. There are opportunities within the generic outpatient team and the specialist neurodevelopmental pathway.
Applications are invited from RMNs who have experience or a demonstrable interest in child and adolescent mental health, excellent assessment, care planning and communication skills and a desire to work in a busy changing service with children and young people and their families and carers.
