The largest Internal Audit Consortium in NHS Scotland is recruiting to this permanent post. You will work across our three Health Board and six Integrated Joint Board clients as required, albeit primarily within the Tayside and Forth Valley regions using flexible/hybrid working as required.

FTF provides a professional, independent, internal audit service as an integral element of the corporate governance framework. The size and complexity of the work is professionally stimulating and involves a risk based review of all systems of internal control across the full range of NHS services.

Reporting to the Chief Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for leading and delivering an effective internal audit service in Tayside and Forth Valley. You will work with Health Board and Integrated Joint Board (IJB) Accountable Officers, Directors, Chief Finance Officers and Audit and Risk Committees to ensure that the internal audit service facilitates the achievement of the highest standards of internal control by providing appropriate assurance and advice, as well as helping them to respond effectively to developments in corporate governance and risk management. You will promote the value of Internal Audit and be an advocate for robust governance and assurance. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professionally qualified Auditor, working within a stimulating, dynamic and forward-looking NHS internal audit environment and helping our clients find innovative solutions to unprecedented challenges.

As a member of the FTF Management Team, you will contribute to the future of FTF, working in partnership with colleagues and further developing our approach to key audit areas.

To succeed, you will need to be CCAB / CMIIA qualified, with a demonstrable track record of achievement and leadership which will include relevant audit experience. You will also have excellent management, communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to add value. Knowledge of NHS and IJB policies, practices and procedures is advantageous but not essential.

In this senior role your advice will be sought and valued so you will need to call on the knowledge and experience gained from post qualification (CCAB/CMIIA) experience.

This position offers a genuine development opportunity, together with variety and responsibility. In return for your commitment and drive we will support your personal and professional development.

For informal enquiries, please contact Jocelyn Lyall, Chief Internal Auditor by email jocelyn.lyall2@nhs.scot.

Scotland's major cities, Glasgow & Edinburgh are within easy travel from all of our Client regions.

Our work is currently delivered on a hybrid basis and you will need to be able to access our regional offices as and when required.

Applications may be considered on a job share / part time basis.
Primary base - Forth Valley or Tayside, dependent on your location
