Band 3 Health Care Support Worker

37.5 hours per week


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time band 3 HCSW to work within the liver service.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team the post holder will provide care to patients in support of the trained nurse and will regularly work unsupervised.

  • Provide practical support to the unit adhering to standards set at local level
  • Competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient group
  • Ensure the effective delivery of nursing care is provided to patients and that an acceptable standard is maintained

The post holder will be educated to standard grade level or have equivalent level of experience and possess excellent communication, team-working and time management skills. It is desirable you have a SVQ qualification or working towards and essential you have venepuncture and cannulation skills.

The clinic area cares for patients receiving a variety of liver and gastroenterology treatments at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.     

The shift pattern is over 5 days Mon-Fri 0800-1700 / 37.5hrs wk.
