This post will be pivotal in ensuring that the waiting list service supporting the clinical management of General Surgery patients within the North Sector Hospitals are delivered efficiently and effectively. The postholder will work directly with the Administration/Waiting List Manager to support achievement and maintenance of the Guarantee Wait Times.
The postholder will be directly responsible for the maintaining of the waiting lists within General Surgery. The main areas of responsibility are:
- Monitoring the day-to-day management of inpatient, day case and outpatient waiting lists across two hospital sites.
- Resolve potential problems.
- Ensure achievement of national and local targets.
- Expand capacity to deliver activity.
- Improve efficiency.
- Reduce inappropriate demand on services.
- Develop and implement best practice.
- To assist the Clinical Service Manager/ Waiting List Manager in the provision of data relating to waiting lists within the directorate.
- Manage referrals to external hospital(s) providing additional capacity
It is essential that you have a good standard of education and you should be proficient with computer, keyboard and email skills. You should have excellent communication skills. Waiting list management skills would be an advantage. You will also be required to work within and adhere to policies and procedures, for example health and safety, data protection, administration/secretarial standards and confidentiality. The hours of work are Mon-Fri 0830-1630.
