This is a permanent 30 hour post, hours / days are worked Monday to Friday days to be agreed.

This post presents an exciting secondment opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the Diabetes Service at  Royal Alexandra Hospital

You will be responsible for the assessment, implementation and evaluation of care and education for individuals with diabetes as well as where appropriate providing support to their carers and families.

You will provide expert specialist care to meet the initial and ongoing needs of adults with diabetes, delivering nurse led services to specific target groups and guiding and supporting other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will contribute to the development of guidelines and protocols locally and Board wide and provide evidence based specialist intervention, education and training programs for patients, health care professionals and other relative agencies.

You will be part of a wider Diabetes Specialist team with some possible cross site working within the Clyde Sector.

You should have previous diabetes experience at Band 5/6 and you will be expected to have excellent clinical, communication and time management skills, demonstrating an ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team..
