The shift pattern for this position is Predominately Monday - Friday various days with some weekend hours as service requires.
As an experienced staff nurse , you will have relevant, current, clinical post registration skills & have the ability and knowledge to deliver the specialised patient treatments, managing care of numerous defined conditions and have the technical skill set to competently perform the necessary invasive/physical aspects of care, including venipuncture & cannulation to support patients diagnosis & scheduled treatments
As part of the multidisciplinary team within the Medical Day Unit, the post holder will have the responsibility for assessment of care needs, ensuring the delivery of high quality care to day patients. As this is a multi-specialist area it would be advantageous to have had previous experience in nursing patients with various medical conditions (i.e. Respiratory, Rheumatology, IBD, Endocrine, Liver Disease, and Cardiology) and have knowledge and understanding of current nursing requirements relating to these conditions.
You will display motivational qualities, effective organisational skills, exhibit confident communication skills to engage with various services, hospital clinicians and General Practitioners and maintain excellent clinical links between these services whilst upholding confidentiality at all times.
Evidence of personal development will be expected including TURAS update and timeous Revalidation process
It is also your responsibility to ensure personal learning, statutory/ mandatory Learnpro modules are consistently up to date, to include additional modules relevant to the service.
You will be expected to contribute professionally and posses a high level of ITC skills including e- forms, Trakcare and portal systems. You will be based within the South / South /West Sector GG & C on a full time permanent basis, day shift pattern of mainly Monday – Fridays with some Saturday and Sunday working or as the service requirements dictates.
