Full Time

37. 5 Hours per week

Permanent

An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 dietitian for a newly established Nutritional Support Dietitian.  The post is part of a small team of dietitians based in Orkney.

The role is to enhance and further develop nutritional support care in both primary and secondary care in Orkney.  It offers an excellent opportunity to deliver a wide range of nutritional care with emphasis on nutritional support, oral nutritional support and therapeutic diets in both community settings, including service users’ homes, residential care, supported living, sheltered housing and in the Balfour Hospital.

We are committed to the training of dietetic students, carers, families and other Health Care Professionals.  Excellent communication skills are therefore essential in this role as is the ability to work independently.  Travel around the island is important and a full driving licence is essential.

The post allows for extensive peer support and opportunities to work in dietetics across Orkney.  You will continue to promote evidence based practise in the team and participate in the creation of new projects.  NHS Orkney embraces technology including use of electronic patient notes and Near Me to enhance patient care.  We actively support CPD.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with other health and social care colleagues taking a proactive approach to the clinical care of patients, service improvement and pathway development.  This post would ideally suit a band 6 dietitian or a band 5 with experience who is ready to progress and seeking to broaden clinical experience.

You must be registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council.
