The shift pattern for this position is Monday – Friday (worked flexibly over core office hours).​​​​​​​

The purpose of the R&I office is to provide a co-ordinated, supported environment and infrastructure for investigators undertaking clinical research in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The Glasgow R&I office is located at Ward 11 in the Dykebar Hospital Site and has responsibility for all research projects being conducted across Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board.

The Senior Research Administrator (SRA) will manage sponsor document submissions and act as a central contact point to take forward the local components of Management approval.  The SRA supports the timely review of study documents and will support their Sponsor Research Co-ordinator to deliver against numerous project milestones, timelines and targets. 

The post holder is the first contact point for Researchers requesting that GG&C sponsor their research project.  The SRA will provide expert research support to Clinical Academics ranging from Consultant/Professor level to students.  The successful applicant will co-ordinate review and approval from support departments and be actively involved in ensuring that the logistics of a study can happen across NHSGGC.  This includes liaising with Nursing support, Pharmacy reviewers and approvers, financial review, tissue acquisition, and Patient imaging.  This work extends to any amendments being made to the original study design.    

The post holder must be educated to degree level (Biological Science / Business administration / Social science or other) and should have relevant experience, a good understanding of clinical research methodologies, terminology and networks, and a drive to deliver a robust and efficient service.  Effective time management skills are vital for this post and an enthusiasm to support the Sponsor portfolio and the staff that work on these projects.
