Specialist Biomedical Scientist Band 6/ Annex 21 (3 posts)

Applications are invited from suitably experienced and motivated individuals to fill the role of Specialist Biomedical Scientist.  We are looking for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with previous Bacteriology experience.  Candidates able to work towards the IBMS Specialist Portfolio will be considered under Agenda for Change Band 6 Annex 21

The post is based in the Bacteriology Laboratory of Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Participation in the 24/7 working system IS expected.

Please ensure you are HCPC registered and please state details of your degree i.e. IBMS accredited degree and name of the University.

*Please note this is a Trainee post, therefore Annex U applies*

For trainees covered by Annex U where the period of training lasts for between one and four years, pay will be as follows:

  • up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate;

  • more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate of the qualified;

  • more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.

  • more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
