An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dental Therapist to assume the position of Tutor and support the Oral Health Sciences (OHS) Programme Team within Glasgow Dental Hospital and School.
The successful candidate will be accountable to the OHS Programme Lead and will be responsible for the delivery of theoretical and clinical activity and assessment within the Programme, ensuring quality assurance of professional educational delivery. The BSc Oral Health Sciences is awarded by Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU). This post sits within the Department of Radiography and Podiatry in the School of Health and Life Sciences at GCU. The postholder must be familiar with GCU policies.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic and will demonstrate an ability to develop and support students in the acquisition of knowledge and skills associated with dental hygiene and therapy. The post holder will be a GDC registered Dental Therapist, with a recognised qualification, either a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy or a BSc in Oral Health Sciences. Teaching experience and a teaching qualification would be desirable.
They will participate in staff appraisals, personal development and continuing professional development programmes. The post holder will be familiar with and ensure compliance with, national and local policies and protocols.
