There is a Permanent Post and a Fixed Term post for 12 months available with this vacancy. Please put onto your application which post or posts you wish to apply for. The Fixed Term post is full time 37.5hrs per week and the Permanent Post is part time 26hrs per week.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Registered Nurse or AHP to work within the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Moving and Handling Team. The post holder should have a desire to work within this field and have a minimum of 3 years post registration experience and experience of delivering Moving and Handling Training is desirable. The post holder will work as a key member of the existing Moving and Handling Team and will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive Moving and Handling training and expert advice to all NHS GG&C employees and managers at a time of growth and development. The role will involve provision of a range of moving and handling services including training (face-face as well as involvement in reviewing online theory training material), expert advice to staff and manager on a wide range of moving and handling queries, including on equipment and complex patient moving and handling assessments. The post holder will be involved in adverse event reviews and ensuring organisational compliance with all legal duties in relation to manual handling. In addition the post holder will provide advice to the organisation as required in relation to HSE standards. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a positive and enthusiastic approach. You should have excellent communication, assessment and organisational skills and be able to work both independently and as part of the wider team. Demonstrating adaptability to the diverse and variable demands upon our service is essential as is experience of delivering moving and handling training, ideally within the healthcare setting.
