Specialist Physiotherapist – Band 6

Are you an experienced Band 5 Physiotherapist seeking a Band 6 position where you will develop your Specialist Neurological Rehabilitation skills in a supportive, forward thinking environment?
A rare and exciting opportunity for a temporary (12 months) 30 hour/week (0.8 WTE) Specialist Physiotherapist position has arisen with the NeuroRehabilitation Service (NRS) based within Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our close working multidisciplinary team and rapidly evolving Service
Working closely with the Band 7 Physiotherapist, this is an opportunity to enhance your physiotherapy skills and develop the physiotherapy provision across In-patient, Out-patient and Community services. You will assess and treat patients with complex neurological conditions with a key role in developing treatment programmes specific to individual needs from their diagnosis to anticipatory care, risk assessment, condition management and health promotion. You will be involved in complex discharge planning for our in-patients, and at times this can be to areas out with Inverclyde.
Within NRS Inverclyde, we pride ourselves on our seamless service, offering prehabilitation, rehabilitation and promoting condition management within the Inverclyde Community following patients’ discharge from the ward. You will also treat community patients referred via other Services e.g. GP, Clinical Nurse Specialists. The Community caseload can be complex and diverse allowing for professional growth and development of extended MDT working.
Our Physiotherapy service is being developed to meet National Guidelines in Spasticity Management. Working alongside the Band 7 Clinical Lead Physiotherapist, you will play an integral role in this Service Development.
NRS Inverclyde has an established robust Clinical Supervision policy in place, regular in-service training opportunities, and time and encouragement will be provided towards self and role development.
Within Inverclyde there are recognised close working partnerships with HSCP and third sector agencies, working with the Band 7 physiotherapist there is an opportunity to further develop these links.
To ensure experience and awareness of Physiotherapy in this complex and diverse area, student education is an important part of our service
The post holder will show commitment to Quality Improvement with opportunities to contribute towards Service Development.
Applicants should have experience working in the field of Neurological Rehabilitation and Management of long term conditions and evidence of developing leadership skills.
