We offer this full time or part-time/job share, permanent post as a Band 7 Pain Management Specialist Nurse, with the emphasis on Outpatient Pain Management.  Applications are invited from suitably experienced, registered nurses who have an MSc or are willing to undertake and complete an MSc in Pain Management. 

Location –ARI; Woodend; Health Village, Frederick Street, Aberdeen. 

You will be expected to 
•    Develop your skills and knowledge by working alongside the members of the multidisciplinary team to achieve a critical understanding of theoretical and practical knowledge of pain management.
•    Work independently at an advanced level of nursing practice, assessing, planning and implementing complex clinical care and judgements and taking responsibility for the care of agreed patient groups within the Pain Management Service. 
•    Manage and evaluate own clinical practice and that of other members of the wider team to ensure safe and effective evidence based care. 
•    Provide specialist education, training and advice to other health care professionals, patients and the general public.
•    Influence implementation of evidence based practice in line with relevant local, regional and national strategies through training and education programmes.
•    Maximise nursing opportunities within an evolving clinical service ensuring that the appropriate nursing contribution is included in the decision making process within a multidisciplinary service.  
•    When appropriate - be involved as a clinical nurse specialist along with lead consultant and other medical colleagues in all team meetings on the planning of new developments for the multi-disciplinary Pain Management Service.

An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
