Health Improvement Senior (Healthy Weight)

This post within the Health Improvement section of NHSGGC PH Directorate offers an exciting opportunity to work in the field of overweight/obesity and Type 2 Diabetes prevention.

Overweight and obesity has increased in prevalence steadily over the last twenty years and now is one of the biggest contributors to ill health, rising type 2 diabetes levels and significant health inequalities.

The postholder will be a highly motivated individual who will coordinate and expand delivery of tier 2 community adult weight management services across NHSGGC, working with a multi-supplier framework.

The postholder will also provide support for associated lifestyle programmes that contribute to the prevention of type 2 diabetes, including physical activity, community food and healthy weight programmes of activity. 

The postholder will be required to work closely with colleagues in NHS Primary Care/Acute Services, Local Authorities, HSCPs and Community Planning Partnerships to provide leadership and project management to deliver health improvement.

You will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and relevant experience of working in health improvement, physical activity  or nutrition arena. You will be a highly organised individual with proven experience in project planning and partnership working.
