What you will do:
To lead, develop and manage NHS District Nursing teams, delivering services in primary, home and community-based settings.
To be responsible for locally based teams and to co-ordinate and develop the district nursing staff groups ensuring high quality patient care centred provision which is responsive to local and national needs and requirements.
To be part of the District Nursing Management Team and to take forward National Health Service (NHS) objectives ensuring compliance with appropriate clinical, financial, staff and corporate governance objectives and reporting arrangements.
You will maintain clinical practice and competence, providing evidence-based expert opinion on District Nursing matters to all grades of staff and senior management within the NHS, Local Authority, Independent Sector and the wider community.
You will have first line management responsibility for District Nursing teams within defined localities, rotating across these groups.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Professional qualification in nursing – essential
Education to degree level in relevant field e.g. health studies
Management qualification – desirable
Post-graduate qualification in District Nursing or equivalent.
Current experience of working with / and / or within District Nursing
Experience of project management – desirable
Good communication skills both verbal and non-verbal – essential
Highly developed skills in team working and inter-personal skills
Knowledge of Information Management and Technology systems and procedures.
Knowledge of Data Protection and Caldicott procedures
Budget management knowledge
Knowledge of clinical, corporate and staff governance issues, policies, procedures and systems.
Ability to motivate, influence and negotiate with individuals with differing opinions of District Nursing practice.
Change management skills
Strategic awareness
Facilitating skills

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
