An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to be part of an exciting development between NHS and Highland Council Housing Department. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Highland Council Housing department, Care and Repair, Grants Officers and the OT staff in the integrated team to educate staff both in Health and Highland Council on the impact of housing issues on functional capacity, standardise processes, implement pathways and guide on needs for new build developments.
It is envisaged that the post holder will play a pivotal role in the early identification of individuals at risk of delayed discharge due to housing / adaptations issues and supporting staff to identify appropriate alternative housing options for patients in the community therefore positively impacting on patient flow.
This post will be based within the Inverness Community Occupational Therapy team. Supervision and line management will be provided through the Inverness Occupational Therapy Team Lead with daily work identified jointly between Housing colleagues and integrated team OT staff. The post holder will be expected to maintain close working relationships with OT colleagues within the Integrated team.
Opportunities for ongoing professional development are encouraged.
A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy is required as is current HCPC registration. Evidence of practice in housing and adaptations is essential.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations to meet the operational requirements of the Service. A full current driving licence and use of own car for work purposes is essential.
