An opportunity has arisen for a reliable, motivated and enthusiastic Out-Patient Assistant to join our very busy Eye Clinic and Cataract Theatre team at ARI. Our department sees over 800 patients per week, we are looking for a team player who is motivated by service improvement and patient focused care. The work is very varied with lots of opportunity to develop within this role and the department. You may be aware that EOPD moved in July 2018 to the Yellow Zone and will also incorporates a New Cataract Operating Procedure Room. HCSWs within EOPD have the opportunity to work between both the Clinic and Theatre area. Appropriate training and support will be provided to all applicants.
HCSW experience would be desirable, applicants with current or previous hospital experience would be very welcome. Applicants with experience working in high street Opticans are also encouraged. Candidates should have the ability to work in a team and have an interest in Ophthalmology.
As a key member of the Eye Out-Patient Assistant Team, the post holder should have a pleasant disposition with good communication, I.T and good organisational skills. The Eye Clinic is a high activity area and requires the post holder to be physically and mentally up to the challenge of the pace of work required.
Hours of work will predominantly be hours per week Monday to Friday we open 0800-1800. The shift pattern is flexible with evening and weekend work being considered as service needs require.
