The ANP role in Unscheduled Medicine is based in Ward 4, which is the Acute Medical Admissions Ward within Perth Royal Infirmary. AMU is also in the process of setting up an acute ambulatory unit as part of service redesign and the ANP team will play an integral part in this new area. This post is an excellent development opportunity for registered nurses to be involved in improving experience and pathways of care for patients within the acute medical service. The post holder will work alongside the nursing and medical staff within Ward 4 to assess, diagnose and plan, whilst implementing evidenced based care for acute medical admissions

The post holder will have proven management skills within a clinical setting, demonstrating excellent leadership and communication. They will have the ability to adapt to changing levels of activity and acuity within the acute medical environment and be able to work in an autonomous role.

The post holder will play a key role in the leadership and development of advanced nursing practice within acute medicine and will participate in the delivery of specialist education and training. They will deliver high quality evidence based and person centred care to all patients within their remit.

The post holder will be an experienced nurse with the personal drive, clinical knowledge and commitment to undertake this challenging and rewarding role. They will possess highly developed communication skills and have experience of working effectively across professional boundaries.

The post is open to existing Advanced Nurse Practitioners who already have a PGDip or higher. Trainee ANPs are also welcome to apply but as a minimum should have completed the Clinical Assessment Module and Non-Medical Prescribing Module (SCQF Level 11). If successful, trainee ANPs will commence post as a Band 6, moving to a Band 7 ANP role on successful completion of their PGDip.
