Health Improvement Practitioner, Employment and Health Team, Health Improvement

2 x Band 5 posts, 37.5 hours/week (1 x permanent, 1 x fixed term 12 months - secondments welcome)

Base: West House, Gartnavel Royal Hospital (Combination of On Base and Work from Home)

Based in the Public Health Directorate’s Employment & Health team, the Health Improvement Practitioner (Health and Work) provides health improvement expertise and advice. The post will:

  • Deliver aspects of the NHSGGC Staff Health Strategy such as Active Staff and Mindfulness,
  • Support workplaces across the NHSGGC area with services and solutions to improve workplace health and wellbeing, and to enable fair and healthy employment.
  • Support the development and delivery of NHSGGC’s Anchor Organisation plan,

Minimum requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Proven experience of working in Health Improvement, Public Health or a relevant Health or Health Improvement area
  • Project management, Partnership working, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Presentation skills, Training skills including developing training sessions,

Sound understanding of theory and policy underpinning health improvement and health inequalities.
