Job Title: Specialist RAD Occupational Therapist Band 6
Hours: 18.75 hours per week. Permanent. over 7 days.
Please note: as this is a part time post, the salary shown will be pro rata
We require an experienced, dynamic and innovative person to join the Rapid Assessment and Discharge (RAD) Team within the Borders General Hospital. The RAD Team is a busy and fast paced therapy service which is responsible for the assessment of patients in the emergency department and the Medical Assessment Unit at the Borders General Hospital.
The post holder will have the opportunity to develop generic AHP competencies, with a focus on prevention of admission and reducing length of stay. As a senior therapist within the team, the post holder will be a key member of the multi disciplinary team. Sound clinical reasoning with a foundation of a varied clinical background is essential.
The successful candidate will join the RAD team at a time of exciting change. The service is moving to a 7-day working model in Summer 2023 and team members will be expected to work under a rolling 6 week rota.
Regular clinical supervision and a commitment to personal and professional development will be offered.
An excellent level of communication and clinical reasoning skills are required as autonomy is a busy accelerated discharge setting is required.
