Band 4: Graphic & Media Designer
Employment type: Fixed term contract for 12 months
Hours per week: 18.75 hours
Department: Medical Illustration Services, Glasgow Royal Infirmary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a graphic designer to join our team of designers, digital print operators, photographers, and videographers in one of the largest Medical Illustration Services in the UK. Our team-based service provides multi-skilled support for NHS staff, from all levels and disciplines, involved in patient care and education, medical teaching, research, and communication.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract to support the Patient Hub, a secure online portal (secure website) that allows patients to access their hospital out-patient appointment information in one place, by using their smartphone, tablet, or computer. The system is currently being implemented and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support in the digitalisation of patient information.
This post requires a flexible and creative team-player with an eye for detail and accuracy. You will have experience of designing for print, web/multi-media and app development at all levels and will have an interest in web-based and video communication. As part of a team of designers, you will be required to work effectively using your own initiative and with team members from your own and other disciplines, meeting deadlines and managing projects with multiple resources.
The successful applicant will have an HND in graphic design or equivalent qualification, and a good knowledge of Apple Mac systems and the Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically InDesign and Acrobat Professional.
This is a part-time position, offering a degree of flexibility regarding working hours. This post is based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
