An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) for a band 6 Charge Nurse. CMHT provides a range of support, treatment and care to individuals with severe and enduring mental health issues. As a Band 6 Charge Nurse you will have responsibility for the nursing clinical leadership, line management of Band 5 nurses and mentoring of students and junior staff. You should have knowledge of low level psychological therapies. You will also be expected to support the Team Lead and step into that role when required. In this role, you will be working as part of the multi-disciplinary team dealing with patients with a range of complex mental health problems, often with contact from their families/carers You will manage your own caseload. You will be expected to work with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), other disciplines including Social work and external agencies. You should be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills, organisation skills and good diary management. It is essential that you will have completed training as a First Level Registered Nurse and have a valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Experience of working in relevant settings post registration is essential and Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential.
