Cataract Unit, Queen Margaret Hospital
The ophthalmic department requires an experienced clerical officer to work with the COeRU screening team.
You will assist the nurses and optometrists by working closely with the screeners completing the COeRU liaising with opticians, optometrists and general practitioners gathering referral information.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all referrals are processed and information collated within the strict timescales within the COeRU pathway. This will require you to liaise with patients and other health care professionals to ensure that the appropriate information is received.
You will have excellent telephone communication skills to deal with multiple telephone calls from general practitioners, opticians, patients and other departments or health care organizations. Communicating via TEAMS and email as above.
You will report to the Senior Charge Nurse Ophthalmology.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
