The Radiology Department are seeking a highly motivated band 5 Registered Nurse who is keen to enhance/develop clinical skills to work within Forth Valley Radiology Department.
The Radiology Department provides a high quality, efficient and effective Radiology service to the local population, including General X-ray’s, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology (including cardiac intervention) and DXA scanning.
The successful candidate will join the team of six Interventional Nurses working within the Radiology Department. The role involves providing support to the Radiologists/Radiographers undertaking interventional Radiology procedures. Nursing support is also provided during Ultrasound and CT procedures such as lung biopsy, breast biopsies, drainages and within the general department as and when required.
There is potential to develop the role and support the Interventional service by training to undertake PICC Line insertion, Hickman Line Removal, Nephrostomy exchange and hysterosalpingograms.
The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team and should possess good interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
The successful applicant should be committed to the provision of high quality patient focused care, have a flexible approach to the service needs.
Previous Interventional Radiology nursing experience is desirable however training will be given and candidates with evidence of relevant transferable skills will be considered.
