The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a well-established charity located at 20 Dumbreck Road, Bellahouston Park, Glasgow G41 5BW. The hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with a life-limiting, progressive illness, and support for their families and carers.
As part of our dynamic multi-disciplinary team the post holder will provide a counselling and support service to patients (including young adults) and their families and friends of Hospice patients and to children/young people referred to our Family Support Service..
You will carry a caseload and support the development and co-ordination of Family Support Services.. You will contribute to the development of these services, sharing your ideas and previous experience.
You will influence the psychological and emotional care of children, young people, adults and families through providing and contributing to educational programmes across professional disciplines and by contributing to the operational development needs of the service.
You will have a degree/diploma in counselling / related discipline. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of working with adults and young people facing or experiencing loss along with an in depth knowledge of at least one counselling approach.
You will have a commitment to quality, a track record of putting patients and families at the heart of all you do and be able to demonstrate advanced communication skills.
