We are currently looking to recruit a Vehicle Master Craftsperson/ Mechanic to work at the Edinburgh City Ambulance Workshop. These facilities maintain the fleet of ambulance vehicles and specialist support vehicles.
The post holder will be a qualified mechanic with experience in the maintenance and repair of light commercial vehicles and cars. The post holder requires extensive diagnostic, auto electrical and analytical skills. Candidates will be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision to the highest standards in a time and safety critical environment.
To meet the challenges of this position, candidates should have an automotive apprenticeship with the appropriate qualifications and experience. Candidates must hold a full driving licence (C1 and D1 are required to drive Ambulance vehicles, this can be obtained during employment and would be a condition of employment). A sound working knowledge of computers, use of software programmes, internet and email is essential.
This is a full time position working 37.50 hours Monday to Friday, a rotating pattern of weekend working will be part of the post responsibility with occasional overtime and public holiday working.
