We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experience individual to join our team as a health care support worker.
The Directorate of Forensic Mental Health provides inpatient care in both medium and low secure settings. The service provides a safe, secure and therapeutic environment for patients with a focus on risk assessment and reduction, rehabilitation and discharge planning for the return to the community.
In line with the philosophy of the Forensic Directorate the post holder will be responsible for assisting in the provision of specialist nursing care and treatment for individuals who have a mental disorder or learning disability who have demonstrated serious offending behaviour or present a significant risk to themselves or others. The post holder as part of the multi-disciplinary team, will provide care through a patient focused approach, within a safe and secure environment under pinned by risk assessment and risk management that will maximize the individuals rehabilitation potential.
The post holder will also ensure that they maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients and carers to ensure that care needs are identified and met within a participative framework that recognizes the principles of equality, dignity, respect and which takes into account spiritual diversity.
