We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The Occupational Health Department provides a range of services to support the health and wellbeing of the workforce.  This includes both mental and physical wellbeing.  The department employs a Consultant Physician in Occupational Medicine, Occupational Health Nurses, Mental Health Nurses, Physiotherapists, Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Counsellors, CBT Therapists and Administrative Staff.

We are now  looking to recruit a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT)   / Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP) to provide mental health assessments, interventions, group working, and supervising staff in training.

The successful candidate will have exemplary communication, assessment and organisational skills with a positive and enthusiastic approach. The role requires someone who  will be able to work independently but also function effectively within the larger team, whilst demonstrating adaptability to the diverse and variable demands upon our service. 

  • The post-holder will provide psychological assessment and formulation, tailored cognitive behaviour change interventions, and specific care packages for individuals and groups.
  • The post holder is also required to supervise trainee CBT Therapists and Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology.
  • The post-holder will demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge in CBT and evidence experience in providing clinical interventions
  • Experience in working in an NHS setting

Applications are welcome from candidates holding either a post graduate qualification (MSc) in Psychological Therapy in Primary  Care  or from those holding a Diploma in CBT from a BABCP (level) 2 Accredited training programme .
