Estates and Facilities is the third largest service Directorate within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. It plays an essential role in supporting clinical activity and healthcare provision within the Acute and Primary care settings for the population of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and beyond.

The range of Soft Facilities Services provided by the Facilities team includes:

Patient Catering, Retail Catering, Domestic Services, Portering, Linen Distribution Services; Transport; Cashiers; Grounds Maintenance, Internal & External Mail Services, Pest Control, Helpdesk Services, Fire Safety, Waste Management, Security and Management of Helipad.

The successful candidate will have delegated responsibility for day to day management for the provision of all Facilities services (Soft Services) to the Queen Elisabeth Universality Hospital campus which incorporates the Royal Hospital for Children and will deputise in the absence of the Head of Facilities Management.                                                    

South Sector Facilities on the Queen Elizabeth University Hospitals Campus, employ approximately 702 wte (1090 Head Count) and manage a total budget of circa £29,136,000 (£25,410,000 Pay and £3,726,000 Non Pay.

We are seeking an individual with significant experience in the provision of Soft Facilities Services with a proven track record of service delivery, excellent people management skills with significant experience of collaborative working with clinical teams. This is a demanding position, but one which will offer excellent opportunities for career development and progression.

The successful post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the Facilities services are responsive and aligned to support the clinical activity, with the ability to deliver high quality services, whilst effectively managing significant budgets, ensuring these are maintained at all times within agreed financial boundaries.  The post requires a dynamic, forward thinking individual who possesses excellent business management and communication skills, is highly conversant with and has an ability to interpret a range of IT related systems.  In addition you must have experience and demonstrate an ability to lead teams of staff effectively and to consistently produce high quality standards of work, be highly adaptable and have an ability to prioritise workloads within a pressurised environment. 

You should be educated to degree level, or have substantial experience in a senior management role. 

The shift pattern is; Monday to Friday: 0830 to 1700
