BAND 7 Clinical Scientist/ Advanced Healthcare Scientist
Applications are invited for an HCPC registered Clinical Scientist post in the Aberdeen Genetics and Molecular Pathology Laboratory. The laboratory is part of the Scottish Strategic Network for Genomic Medicine funded by National Services Division to provide Genetic and Molecular Pathology diagnostic testing in Scotland.
This is a permanent post (37.5 hours/week).
Applicants should have an Honours degree (1st or 2.1), or equivalent, in a biological science, and a postgraduate qualification, or equivalent level of experience, in an area relevant to genomics.
Applicants should be HCPC registered clinical scientists in a relevant genomics based discipline. However, consideration may also be given to trainee clinical scientists in the final year of a formal genomics training programme hosted in a diagnostic genomics laboratory (these candidates will be placed at AfC Band 6 until HCPC registration is obtained).
All applicants should have experience working in a genetics diagnostic laboratory and have specialist clinical and scientific knowledge of the field. Knowledge of a range of genomic methodologies and experience in the use of specialist analytical software, combined with interpretation and reporting of results in a range of scenarios is required.
Excellent communication, attention to detail and team working skills are essential to this post.
