We are seeking to appoint a Rheumatology Senior staff Nurse to the existing award-winning rheumatology team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI).
Rheumatology services are delivered in an attractive and recently refurbished setting on the Foresterhill site at ARI. This dedicated and integrated Rheumatology and Osteoporosis unit provides comprehensive Rheumatology services for the large geographical region of Grampian in the North East of Scotland (population approx. 560 000) and the islands of Orkney (population approx. 22,000).
The role involves the senior staff nurse to work as part of the rheumatology team providing Biologic therapy, clinical support and advice and education to patients but also other healthcare professionals within and without the team. They will be the instrumental in supporting change and developments within the unit.
The Department is supported by a dedicated group of nurses and allied health professionals and the successful candidate will be expected to work within this busy well established department and integrate with the team. Therefore, good communication and networking skills are essential.
The Foresterhill campus is reputed to be the largest in Europe with the principal medical services for Grampian and the Medical School closely integrated. On site are internationally renowned facilities such as the Institute for Medical Sciences, the Health Economic Research Unit and the shortly to be opened Rowett Institute of Nutrition.
Aberdeen is a cosmopolitan city and the oil capital of Europe. It has comprehensive transport links with the rest of the UK and Europe, a range of excellent schools and high-quality housing. Applicants must be a registered nurse with a commitment to ongoing professional development and it is desirable that they have experience in adult rheumatology nursing. Other attributes include experience in staff line management, teaching and audit experience.
