The Medical Director is looking to recruit a Head of Patient Safety, Quality and Risk. Applicants must have significant management experience within a senior operational role.
The postholder will also be able to demonstrate experience and successful track of leading, introducing and managing major change programmes.
The post holder will play a key role in leading the clinical and care assurance agenda, through the Quality Forum and Joint Clinical and Care Governance Committee, contributing significantly to the delivery of our strategic objective around further improving quality and safety for our patients. This will include all aspects of patient involvement and patient experience, including supporting practitioners to investigate and learn from feedback, complaints and Significant Adverse Events Reviews and critically providing assurance in each of these spaces.
The Head of Patient Safety, Quality and Risk will also be responsible for developing the patient experience agenda for NHS Orkney and providing strategic leadership to the Clinical Governance function agenda. An important part of the role is to lead the delivery of the Scottish Patient Safety Programme, together with the Nursing Directorate, in fostering the delivery of continuous quality improvement through the application of Realistic Medicine and reliability science to individual patient care.
