NHS Lothian offers a range of health services to almost 1m people in Edinburgh and the Lothians our aim is to help people live healthier, longer lives – no matter who they are. Would you like to gain experience with one of the largest healthcare providers in the UK, helping us to shape the future of healthcare in Scotland? Apply for an internship with our Finance team today.
Join us this summer!
As a summer intern you’ll work closely with dynamic and enthusiastic professionals who are committed to making a difference. It’s the only way to gain an insight into a world renowned healthcare organisation as complex as ours!
Over the 10 week programme you will experience Management Accounting and Capital Finance and Planning. You will also attend meetings and shadow Senior Finance colleagues and front line staff to ensure that on your departure you have seen as much as you can of how we work.
During your time here you will also be given a project, either individually or to work on with other members of the finance team which will run alongside the “day job” – time management is definitely a skill we value here. In your final week you will then present your project to our Senior Finance Team, discuss your progress with them and receive feedback that will hopefully help you in the future.
With opportunities to visit hospital sites and observe Clinicians this internship is unlike any other. It is a fantastic way to see where your personal interests and motivations lie, and indeed whether or not a career in public finance is for you.
You’ll definitely gain insights and experience that will be invaluable going forward!
If this unique opportunity is something which appeals to you, please tell us why you think you’d be great for this role as well any other points you feel may help your application.
