Who We Are

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

The Planning and Corporate Resources Directorate provide a range of key corporate support functions covering:

Strategic and operational planning; business continuity and resilience, corporate governance and Board committee services; performance and risk management; executive support for the Chief Executive and the Chair; complaints management; policy analysis and corporate report writing; and support for educational and research governance and corporate communication and engagement.

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to join our highly talented and growing team within the Communications department, to collaborate and problem-solve some of the most complex visual challenges in health and social care.

What We Love to See

Graphic Designers offer a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:

  • High level of graphic design skills, including image creation and manipulation, page layout, knowledge of colour theory, visual hierarchy and use of typography.
  • Experience in a graphic design role
  • Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud Applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects
  • Knowledge of print procurement processes
  • Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise workload and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
