Job opportunity for a Band 6 nurse or midwife experienced in providing specialist sexual and reproductive health care to work in the world class fully integrated NHS Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced nurse/midwife to work in Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service (LSRHS). The fully integrated service is composed of Chalmers Centre and ten local clinics, including the Howden integrated clinic in West Lothian. It provides Tier 4 and 5 specialist sexual health services working across 4 Community Health and Social Care Partnerships meeting the needs of 80,000 patient attendances per annum. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08.30-16.30 or 12.00 – 20.00 with a minimum of one evening shift per week and the possibility of long days in some circumstances.
The post holder would be expected to participate in the care of people requiring Genitourinary Medicine, HIV, Contraception, the management of unplanned pregnancy and gynaecological care. The post holder will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients across LSRHS including covering HR+, our young People’s service, working with Outreach teams and local clinics. There will be opportunities to gain an understanding of Gender Identity, psychosexual problems, menopause and other more specialist fields of practice located within LSRHS. The post holder will be expected to share in the management and leadership of the nursing team
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
