Digital Directorate – Development Services
Development Team Leader / Technical Lead - Band 7
£46,244 - £53,789 per annum pro rata
NHS Tayside has recently developed their Digital Strategy and at the heart of this lies an ambition to develop a modern Electronic Patient Record (EPR). This is an exciting time to join NHS Tayside Digital Directorate, as the Development Services Team will be key to many of the developments in this new strategy.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking a heavily experienced JavaEE developer to technically lead our Development Scrum Team.
Candidates should have knowledge and capabilities in the following areas:
- Web Development including Java EE / JavaServer Faces / Unit Testing / HTML / JavaScript / CSS using SOLID principles.
- Databases (SQL Server and/or Oracle).
- Competence in application analysis and design techniques.
- Experience of training and mentoring a development team.
- Experience of working in an Agile team (preferably Scrum).
- Strong consultative approach and communication skills, to lead and facilitate collaborative working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This role will include the above but is not restricted to these responsibilities.

The post holder will have a degree of autonomy within their role, reporting to the Development Service Delivery Manager. Training relevant to the role will be provided, with opportunities for professional development and career progression, within the wider directorate.
This is a permanent, full-time post (37.5 hrs per week) within the Digital Directorate, currently based at Maryfield House, Dundee, however, location may change in the future. We aim to provide an environment that encourages work/life balance and there is some flexibility in team remote working on a partial basis.
