Estates and Facilities is the third largest service Directorate within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. It plays an essential role in supporting clinical activity and healthcare provision within the Acute and Primary care settings for the population of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and beyond. The Facilities Directorate is responsible for the provision of Domestic Services in all sectors throughout the Health Board.
The QEUH campus has 1890 beds with the requirement for the provision of Domestic Services to all buildings on the campus, both clinical and non-clinical, which incorporates the new QEUH and RHC wards and the retained site, including Maternity, Neonatal, Institute of Neurological Sciences, Office Building, Laboratory Medicine and Teaching & Learning Centre.
The QEUH Domestic Services Department, employ approximately 319 wte (480 Head Count) and manage a total budget of circa £14,327,160 (£13,699,864 Pay and £627,296 Non Pay).
We are seeking an individual with significant experience in the provision of Domestic Services in a health care environment with a proven track record of service delivery, excellent people management skills with significant experience of collaborative working with clinical teams and Infection Control colleagues. This is a demanding position, but one which will offer excellent opportunities for career development and progression.
The successful post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the provision of Domestic services are responsive and aligned to support the clinical activity, with the ability to deliver high quality services, whilst effectively managing significant budgets, ensuring these are maintained at all times within agreed financial boundaries. The post requires a dynamic, forward thinking individual who possesses excellent business management and communication skills, is highly conversant with and has an ability to interpret a range of IT related systems. In addition you must have experience and demonstrate an ability to lead teams of staff effectively and to consistently produce high quality standards of work, be highly adaptable and have an ability to prioritise workloads within a pressurised environment.
You should be educated to degree level, or have substantial experience in a senior management role. Due to the requirement for the management of the service provision to be covered on a 24/7 basis, a flexible approach to working hours will be necessary.
