We are seeking to recruit a pharmacist to join our team at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. Working with the pharmacy team including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants, you will be responsible for delivering a safe, effective and efficient dispensary service on a daily basis, with support from the Dispensary Manager. You will be responsible for the provision of pharmacist and pre-registration pharmacist training within the dispensary, and you will contribute to regular review and development of standard operating procedures. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the new clinical pharmacy service and medicine supply model, utilising new technology to deliver the highest standards of pharmaceutical care. Supporting effective pharmaceutical discharge planning is a priority for the pharmacy team, to maximise the safe and effective use of medicines for patients on their return home. Working collaboratively with colleagues across NHS Fife Pharmacy Services and the wider multi-disciplinary team, you will ensure patient safety through quality and effective transformational care.

This is an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking pharmacist looking to develop their management and leadership skills within a supportive environment. Good team working and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to provide professional leadership in the delivery of a high quality pharmacy dispensing service.

We are looking for a pharmacist with a broad based clinical knowledge and excellent communication and organisational skills. You will have a post graduate diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or have equivalent experience or qualification. Applications from experienced community or practice pharmacists looking to gain experience within the hospital service are welcomed.

This post will be based at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline, however the pharmacy department within NHS Fife operates as a single system and there may be a requirement to work at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy when required.  You will be part of the pharmacy team contributing to rotas for 7 day working, public holidays and the on call pharmacy service.
