NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. 

There are two full-time posts of 37.5 hours per week available,  The shifts are Mon-Fri (08:00-16:00, 09:00-17:00 10:00-18:00) which are rostered weekly. Plus Mon only 12:00-20:00 (as & when required)

An opportunity has arisen to join our team and work within the Endoscopy Decontamination Unit (EDU) at Glasgow Royal Infirmary Glasgow Sector (NHSGG&C). The core activity of the EDU is the decontamination, disinfection, assembly, packaging and distribution of reusable flexible endoscopes in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Currently we have 1 post available in the unit on a permanent contract. Essentially the post requires a minimum one year of experience working within an endoscopy decontamination unit or sterile services unit. Be a good team-worker with good general education including literacy and numeracy skills, together with good manual dexterity.

Knowledge, training and / or experience required

Required to undertake on the job induction.

Required to complete departmental competencies

Undertake all Statutory / Mandatory Training

Undertake and complete mandatory HCSW standards

Applicants should have effective written and verbal communication skills

Applicants should have the ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a fast paced busy environment

Applicants should have a working knowledge of basic information technology
