This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
You must have an active NMC PIN.
The post requires PVG scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland check.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Mental Health Nurse to work within East Dunbartonshire Older Peoples Community Mental Health Service. You will be an experienced registered mental health nurse who has the ability to work autonomously and also as part of a team. You will be able to demonstrate robust assessment and risk management skills with experience of multi-agency working, partnership working.
As an integral member of the CPN Team and MDT you will liaise with hospital and primary care teams, social work and voluntary agencies to formulate and promote integrated, person-centered care recovery based outcomes. You will contribute to clinics, facilitate group work and provide advice and response as an identified member of the duty rota. You will support the Team Lead to deliver effective operational services and service development. You will have delegated supervisory responsibility for junior staff and learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is knowledge of relevant legislation and evidence based practice. It is essential you are a registered mental health nurse with a current NMC registration with extensive experience at band 5 and evidence of continual professional development. Community experience is desirable as is experience within OPMH. Working knowledge of evidence based psychological interventions in response to distress in dementia is desirable.
The post is East Dunbartonshire-wide and you will be expected to work in East and West localities. You will be based at Woodlands Resource Centre. Owing to the wide geographical catchment area a driving license is essential.
