JOB TITLE: Medical Secretary Team Lead
GRADE: Band 4
HOURS: 37.5 hours (part time applications considered)
CONTRACT: Permanent
LOCATION: Cambridge Street House Day Unit
We are searching for a creative and forward thinking individual to oversee the delivery of administrative support within the South West Adult Mental Health Team. You will be leading an experienced admin team in providing support to the multi-disciplinary clinicians and support workers based at Cambridge Street House in areas such as Psychiatry, CMHT Nursing, Psychology and Thrive.
Working as part of this multi-disciplinary team, your role will be to ensure both efficiency and quality of administrative and secretarial support to service users, colleagues and partner agencies accessing our services. You will be responsible for developing local procedures/systems and managing our service waiting lists as well as ensuring the site is covered administratively. You will line manage and support a team of committed admin staff, comprising medical secretaries and a receptionist, and provide ongoing supervision/appraisal to support their development.
The successful candidate should be highly motivated, proactive and organised, with strong communication skills and experience of working at a senior secretarial/administrative level. A commitment to the NHS Lothian Values and quality provision in healthcare is essential for this post.
Whilst this post is full time, applications for part time working will be considered within reason.
The Day Unit is based in Edinburgh City Centre near Castle Terrace and the Usher Hall with very good public transport links for buses and trams.
