Job Advert

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a fixed term position of 18 months.

The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the NHSGGC Board Headquarters, in a fast paced and high profile environment, and should appeal to candidates with a legal qualification or background in legal casework.

As a Corporate Legal Manager, the post holder will be responsible for managing a sizeable caseload of legal claims brought against the Board and will work closely with our solicitors to bring these cases to a satisfactory resolution. The post holder will also act as liaison between the Board and Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Services to support its investigations, and manage Board input into Fatal Accident Inquiries, Health & Safety Prosecutions and Judicial Reviews as required. Making well-judged decisions is essential in this post, as are exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, diplomacy, discretion and professionalism.

The post holder will work with a significant amount of autonomy and will use their own initiative to build personal credibility and establish trust and confidence with senior managers throughout NHSGGC.
