Title: Registered Nurse (Community based)
Salary: AFC Band 5
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Based: Edinburgh Hospice/ St Johns Hospital

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and proactive individual for an opportunity to join a well-established and highly regarded team.
As a community based Registered Nurse, you will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and make critical judgements using expert skills and experience, under guidance, in order to provide the highest possible care to patients in the community with cancer or other life limiting conditions. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in assessing and managing the patients’ needs at the end of their life.
You will be enthusiastic and forward thinking with excellent communication skills and want to positively contribute to the team and the Marie Curie Hospice. Candidates must be registered nurses and a nursing degree, or equivalent, is essential. You will be keen to further develop your skills in a specialist setting. The ability to drive with access to a vehicle insured for business use is also required.
What we are looking for:
- RGN Level 1 Registration
- Principles and practice of specialist palliative care is desirable.
- Good knowledge of professional accountability and responsibility and the limitations of the role.
- Recent/current experience in Palliative Care and Caseload Management desirable.
