An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Health Promotion Service for 2 full time Health Promotion Officer Posts.

Individual posts will have the following responsibilities:

Post 1 – Health Promotion Officer with a remit for Stop Smoking and Substance use.  Based at Colquhoun Street, Stirling.
• Support implementation, delivery, development, and monitoring of smoking cessation services across Forth Valley. 
• Work with partners to develop and deliver prevention action plans.
• Line management responsibility for stop smoking advisors.
• The post will also support the delivery of National and local health strategies to improve health by preventing and reducing alcohol and drug use, harm and related deaths.

Post 2 – Health Promotion Officer with a remit for Substance Development.  Based at Falkirk Community Hospital.
• Support the delivery of National and local health strategies to improve health by preventing and reducing alcohol and drug use, harm and related deaths. 
• Deliver targeted training including overdose awareness and effective intervention training and alcohol brief intervention (ABI) training.
• Work with partners to develop and deliver prevention and early intervention activities.
• Lead on the development and implementation of a Forth Valley wide school based social influence programme.

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the health improvement policy agenda, have excellent project and people management skills.  The post holders will be required to line manage staff.  In addition, experience of partnership working, research and evaluation, outcomes driven programmes and workforce development are essential.  The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level in a relevant specialist area.   The successful candidates will be required to travel throughout Forth Valley and regularly work out of hours.
