Access and Assurance Directorate
Clinical Radiology Department, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee,
(Potential Tayside rotation)
CT/IR Radiographer – Band 5 Annex 20 or Band 6 (Depending on experience)
Full time, permanent post (3 posts)
NHS Tayside requires additional radiographic staff in order to maintain the current CT/IR services, as well as enable service expansion, including Mechanical Thrombectomy. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified diagnostic radiographers to join the CT/IR team. The successful applicants must be keen to work in a small dedicated team. There is a requirement to be able to participate in an out of hours on-call service.
Applicants must hold an appropriate diagnostic radiography qualification and be HCPC registered. The undertaking of post graduate education/qualifications is encouraged in a supportive environment.
Previous experience in CT and/or IR would be an advantage; however, this post provides an opportunity for enthusiastic newly qualified radiographers to commence their radiography careers with a built in route to advancement. Graduate radiographers will be supported to develop the skills and competencies which will allow them to operate as autonomous practitioners with limited supervision of their clinical work. In accordance with Agenda for Change Annex 20, skills to perform autonomously at band 6 level must be developed within 12 to 24 months after starting employment at band 5 level.
