We have a vacancy for a Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer within the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre (Glasgow/Gartnavel site).

The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre provides an integrated cancer management and treatment service for patients from the West of Scotland and beyond. Facilities are situated in the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and the Tom Wheldon Building on the Gartnavel Hospitals site. Approximately 6500 courses of radiotherapy are provided annually requiring over 100,000 patient attendances. The Radiotherapy Department is equipped with the most up-to-date facilities currently available which includes 11 Varian True Beam linear accelerators, 3 CT Scanners, Advantage Windows Virtual Simulation system, an Eclipse planning system and all are networked via the ARIA Radiotherapy Management System.

The Band 6 Therapy Radiographers are required to accurately and efficiently plan and deliver radiotherapy and to provide highest possible standards of care and support to patients with a wide range of clinical pathologies and varying presentations. The Band 6 will be responsible for accurate planning of treatment, accurate calculation and delivery of radiation treatment while conducting checks and verification on all treatment prescriptions and treatment field positionsYou will also be responsible for the maintenance of accurate treatment records for each patient. You will rotate through specialist areas such as pre-treatment, CT simulator and all treatment machines and with supervision he/she will assist in the day to day operation of a treatment unit, simulator or other area of the department.  Minimum Qualifications: DCR(T) or BSc in Therapy Radiography (or equivalent), State Registration with HCPC as a Therapy Radiographer is mandatory and you should have experience at Band 5 level.  The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday.
