We are seeking to recruit an Assistant Psychologist (Peer Researcher) within NHS Forth Valley’s Psychological Therapies Service. The service employs Nurse Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists and Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology.

The post holder will provide specific support for a CSO funded research fellowship entitled; ‘Understanding why people with experience of complex trauma disengage from psychological therapy; a trauma informed research programme’. This post is funded for 9 months duration.

Candidates must possess a first academic degree at Honours level in Psychology. Excellent interpersonal communication, verbal and listening skills and research skills are essential. Lived experience of complex trauma and/or experience of accessing NHS psychological therapy services are required, alongside comfort using these experiences to contribute to research design and recruitment decisions.

The working hours and location are flexible however some travel to the base in Falkirk and the surrounding area will be required for meetings and study recruitment.
